Artist and maker Hannah Clare, gathers ideas from nature, poetry and folklore. Collecting and interacting with the natural landscape is an important part of her work.
'I have always been fascinated by the natural environment and I find much of my inspiration exploring woodlands, fields and coasts; gathering flora and fauna.
I love to capture the poetry of organic forms, patterns, rhythms and textures with a spontaneous quality and serendipity, using lots of processes to explore shape, colour and composition.'
Hannah graduated with BA Hons in Illustration at University of Brighton, and now lives and works in Brighton where she also draws inspiration from the cold wild sea shores of the south coast. She works in mixed media, mark making, collage, printmaking, photography, painting and ceramics.
